Sydney Flying Lessons

There are many reasons why you would want to learn how to fly an aeroplane, but every single one of those reasons starts with a solid foundation. If the initial training is rushed, you’ll never be a good pilot. Flying is about safety, and safety can only be achieved through diligence and patience, with careful attention to the small details. There is no such thing as taking a crash course to learn how to fly, so we make sure to imprint good habits and knowledge when you participate in our Sydney flying lessons.

The take-off point of all flying in Australia is the Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL). The syllabus is dictated by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia (CASA). Still, we go beyond the basics of CASR Part 61 and teach students the skills that imbue confidence and how to react in real-world emergencies during pilot training in Sydney.

The Benefits of Australian Aerobatic Academy’s Training Program

There are many institutions and individuals from whom you can learn how to fly a plane, but we are the only source to offer a definitive advantage in Sydney. Our curriculum is fully compliant with CASA, and successful candidates will receive their RPL with pride, from where they can qualify in various other directions and skills. But what really sets us apart are the following points:

  • Aerobatic training. Yes, we include basic aerobatic training in the course. These skills are invaluable when something goes wrong in the air. For this reason, you’ll be doing loops and rolls during your first lesson in the sky.
  • Modern aircraft. There is nothing wrong with learning to fly in a 40-plus-year-old aircraft, as these girls were built to last. But our Robin 2160 simply outperforms them in cruising speed and rate of climb. This directly translates to shorter flying times to and from the training area, which equates to more instructional time, including more landings and take-offs which can be made during the allotted time. Plus, the Robin loves to do aerobatics.
  • The instructor who will teach you how to fly is more than just an instructor. They are a teacher, guide and mentor who takes a personal interest in your growth as a pilot. The objective is not to make you a competent pilot, but a great pilot.
  • All lessons include free in-flight video recording if you desire. This is a great training aid, as it allows you and your instructor to review the lesson later, when there is time to pause and discuss. It also allows you, the student, to reflect on the important aspects of the flight without the stress of response times.
